African Boutique Retreats is an independent editorial magazine. Everything we publish is governed by a single principle: editorial merit comes before everything else.

How we select properties

Every property featured on this site is selected on editorial merit alone. For its design, its story, its sense of place, and its ability to offer something genuinely distinctive. We do not feature properties simply because they have paid to appear here. No property can buy its way onto these pages.

Independence

Our editorial team makes all selection and content decisions independently. Properties, tourism boards and PR agencies have no editorial influence over what we write or how we write it. Where we have received complimentary stays or press materials, we say so.

Commercial relationships

We may earn a commission through booking links on this site. Where this is the case, we disclose it clearly. Commercial relationships never influence which properties we feature or what we say about them. Our editorial independence is the only thing that makes this publication worth reading.

Accuracy

We take accuracy seriously. Pricing, availability and property details are verified at the time of writing but may change. We encourage readers to confirm current information directly with properties before making any booking decision.

Corrections

If you believe something we have published is factually incorrect, please contact us. We take all correction requests seriously and will update content where appropriate.

Suggest a property
